More Than Tutoring.
A Different Way to Learn.

At MST, we believe learning should never fit children into a box. Instead, we build education around the individual child, because every learner deserves an approach that helps them succeed.

Our Story

Multisensory Tutor (MST) was founded by educator Lauren Miska on one simple belief: children don’t stop loving learning because they aren’t capable, they stop loving learning when they stop feeling successful. After years teaching in both public and independent schools, Lauren saw bright, capable children struggle. Not because they couldn’t learn, but because traditional educational systems often failed to meet them where they were. Even in smaller classrooms, she found that individualized learning wasn’t guaranteed. Too often, children were expected to fit into systems that weren’t designed for the way today’s curious, creative, movement-driven, socially aware learners think and process information.

Lauren created MST to rethink what education could look like. Instead of asking children to adapt to one way of learning, we adapt learning to the child. Movement is not a distraction. Curiosity is not a problem. Different isn’t deficient. Whether a child needs explicit literacy instruction, executive functioning support, social-emotional coaching, multisensory math, or an alternative educational experience through MST FLEX, our goal is always the same: protect confidence first, teach second. Because when children believe they can succeed, they become willing to take risks, persevere through challenges, and rediscover the joy of learning.

At MST, we create an educational experience that grows with each child, celebrates their strengths, and helps every learner discover the environment where they can truly thrive.

Our Centers

Each MST location has been thoughtfully designed to support the way children naturally learn through movement, collaboration, exploration, and individualized instruction. Our flagship location, MST-Annandale has four zones: Academic, Physical, Play, and Sensory. This allows all of our students to engage in the type of learning that best suits them.
